What is a Share Credit?

One Share Credit (S$1) is one dollar of Share Value. You earn credits by listing things you own, and you spend them on things other members have listed. They live on your ShareHouse wallet and nowhere else.

Can I cash credits out?

No. Credits cannot be withdrawn, refunded to a card, or converted to dollars. They exist to move goods between neighbors, not to be a second bank account.

Can I send credits to someone else?

Not for now. Credits are non-transferable: they cannot be sent, gifted or sold between members. It keeps the system simple and keeps speculators out.

Why did I only get part of my credits up front?

Accepted Answer

New members can spend 25% of an item's Share Value immediately; the rest unlocks when the item is claimed and the handoff is confirmed. Established members get 40% and Trusted members 50% — which is the cap for everyone, including us. Paying all of it up front is not something the arithmetic supports; trust earns you a better appraisal instead.

How does the AI decide what my item is worth?

It identifies the exact item from your photos, pulls recent used-market sales for that model, then adjusts for condition, how confident it is, and how quickly things like it get claimed on ShareHouse. The result is Share Value — what the item will clear for here, not a best-case price somewhere else.

Why is Share Value lower than what I see on other sites?

Asking prices are not selling prices, and a large couch nobody nearby wants is not worth its sticker inside a local network. Liquidity is part of the number. In exchange you get spendable value today instead of weeks of messages.
